iPads that are shared between multiple users can be populated with common apps, and setup for minimum maintenance.
Small numbers of iPads (say less than 10) can be managed as ‘individual’ devices, setting up an iTunes account for each device, and populating the devices with apps purchased through the App Store using iTunes gift cards.
Once you own more than 10 iPads, individual device management becomes onerous, and can be more efficiently managed with Apple’s free Configurator tool, which can deploy apps that have been purchased through Apple’s Volume Purchase Program, and manage settings on multiple iPads via USB.
