Think of Google Drive as your ‘universal’ Home folder – all your files accessible from everywhere, on any device.
Rather than saving files to your Home folder on a file-server at school or in the office, or copying them to a USB drive to transfer to another location, Google Drive provides a storage area that is accessible from anywhere there is an Internet connection, on computers or mobile devices.
Students and staff can access documents in Google Drive from any computer or iPad in school or at home, without the school needing to maintain a file server (with external access) to authenticate users and store student and staff files.
